AKONI

AKONI is a project started in 2020 by two designers who are also the founders of DITA, a popular eyewear brand in our store.

The brand name, which means "priceless" and "worthy of admiration" in Latin, represents their rigorous standards in eyewear production.

When you pick up a pair of AKONI eyewear, please take a closer look at every detail. Every part is uncompromisingly beautiful. In addition to the beautifully cut metal edges, the knurling on the temples, for example, is reminiscent of the crown of a luxury watch or the flint wheel of a lighter, while the titanium tips of the temples replicate the details found on a fine fountain pen. Even the nose pads are lined with beautiful strips. AKONI's designs reflect the mystical power of the golden ratio, the sublime creations of nature such as nautilus shells, and inspiration from the masterpieces of mankind such as Stradivarius' violin and the Parthenon.

Furthermore, AKONI's philosophy is not just about the aesthetics, but also ergonomic comfort and durability for a lifetime of use. The lines on the nose pads are also designed to improve fit and prevent slippage for comfortable use. In the era of low-priced, fast fashion, AKONI eyewear is also sustainable, because perhaps the most environmentally conscious strategy is a commitment to timeless, outstanding design and durability intended for a lifetime of use. Even acetate, which generally takes about three months to manufacture, is made in Japan over a six-month period with the highest quality. Nose pads made from ceramic are lightweight and comfortable to wear. Special titanium, available only in Japan, is strong yet lightweight, resistant to tarnishing and corrosion, and can literally last a lifetime.
